5 ways to separate yourself from other job candidates

1. Be persistent:

Don't just send in your resume and hope for the best—make sure that you follow up and ask about the next steps! If they don't get back to you right away, send another email or give them a quick phone call to check in. You never know what might turn into an opportunity; this is especially true if they're still looking for someone.

2. Do something extra:

If you're interviewing for a job that requires some kind of extra work (like an essay or research project), go above and beyond what's expected of you. This will show them that not only do you want this position, but that you're capable of doing whatever's necessary to get it.

3. Do your research:

Before applying for any job, make sure that you understand exactly what's involved in doing it—and then make sure your  resume reflects those skills!

4. Keep learning new things:

Stay up-to-date on trends and news in your industry so that when it comes time for promotions or raises, you'll be able to speak intelligently about what's going on around you at work—and impress your boss!

5. Be positive:

Stay upbeat even when things get tough because negativity isn't attractive at all!
