Position Overview
In January 2023, our client launched a new $30M early-stage, equity-focused fund, registered in the United Arab Emirates under ADGM (Abu Dhabi Global Market).

The Head of Venture will take charge of an existing portfolio of nine companies (with six LOI projects awaiting deployment), featuring impressive performance metrics such as a triple-digit IRR (330%) and a TVPI over 13.8 (up more than 1380%). The role involves leading a multinational team with a presence across the GCC and SEA regions, with rapid expansion underway.

Requirements

Must-Have:

• 5+ years of venture capital experience;
• Fluency in English (both verbal and written);
• Strong analytical skills, with experience in traditional finance (e.g., hedge fund, investment banking, venture capital, private equity) and/or venture capital;
• Extensive capital raising experience;
• Experience managing a team or as an operator;
• A strong network for deal flow and strategic opportunities, with proven talent for selecting high-potential investments;
• Protocol experience (e.g., business development, engineering, ecosystem understanding);
• Sales expertise with the ability to close deals and a natural affinity for networking;
• Familiarity with portfolio management mechanics;
• Strong negotiation skills and the ability to meet deadlines;
• Proficiency in Excel, Google Sheets, and Mac operating systems.

Nice-to-Have:

• M&A or trading experience (optional but advantageous);
• A financial designation or license is not required but would be a plus.

Role & Responsibilities:

• Lead a multinational team of venture associates, executing the fund manager’s directives while adhering to the investment thesis and serving on the investment committee;
• Assist with capital deployment, including sourcing, due diligence, and executing high-quality deals;
• Oversee a strong deal flow, tracking investment exposure, liquid/illiquid assets, and KPIs, while continuously (re)balancing the portfolio;
• Play a key role in DeFi and liquidity operations, collaborating closely with the quantitative trading team;
• Conduct market research, investment trend analysis, financial modeling, valuation analysis, due diligence, and provide portfolio project support;
• Create and manage regular reports/briefs (e.g., investment notes, quarterly reports, monthly digests);
• Work closely with the fund manager to foster team cohesion, ensure capital efficiency, and expand the company’s reach;
• Promote the fund by conducting interviews, building relationships with other funds, attending/speaking at conferences, and engaging in public forums;
• Present the fund to prospective LPs and assist in the closing process;
• Collaborate with the finance department to ensure compliance and adherence to internal procedures;
• Maintain secure records using company interfaces and repositories.
