Crosschain Applied Researcher (Protocols R&D) (Blockchain)

This client is one of the largest blockchain development companies in the world building out household name applications across finance, DeFi, NFT’s and general Blockchain SaaS solutions. Most of their employees operate fully remotely and we are looking for staff across a number of disciplines with this top tier client.


Responsibilities:

• Researching, designing, implementing, and analysing crosschain protocols
• Conducting theoretical and practical analysis of the performance of crosschain protocols
• Designing and analysing incentive systems
• Collaborating with both internal and external customers and teams
• Publishing and presenting research results both internally and externally

Requirements:

• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related area
• Comfortable with writing code in Java and Solidity
• Keen communicator, eager to share your work in a wide variety of contexts, like internal and public presentations, blog posts, YouTube videos, and academic papers
• Happy to work on open source software projects
• Capable of deep and creative thinking
• Have a drive for excellence and quality
• Open to learning and collaborative by nature
• Willing to give and receive feedback
• Passionate about blockchain technology
• Able to manage the uncertainties and ambiguities associated with working in a remote-first, distributed, decentralised environment

Potential skills:

• PhD or Masters in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related area
• Background in crosschain communications or distributed systems
• Enterprise software development experience
• Experience in analysing the correctness and security of distributed systems
• Familiarity with the application of formal method techniques
• Experience in the analysis of incentive systems
• Track record of publications
• Previous experience in remote or globally distributed teams
