Cloud Security Engineer. Leading fintech start-up - Blockchain/Crypto

CryptoRecruit are representing a leading fintech start up, that uses cutting edge blockchain technology in its products and services. 
The Company is New York based and are looking for an experienced Cloud Security Engineer II, to help further develop and improve their security infrastructure. This position is reporting directly to the chief information security officer, and will work with employees and execs across all teams. 
Main responsibilities are to asses, develop and maintain security infrastructure with the use of various tools and process solutions. Fundamentally making sure that data is secure and there is integration across all cloud platforms.



Responsibilities:
 

• Identify, resolve, and mitigate vulnerabilities on AWS and GCP cloud systems and platforms.
• Perform penetration testing against infrastructure, platform, and applications.
• Manage firewalls, load balancers, and web application firewalls (WAF).
• Help to create the cybersecurity standards and implementing security best practices.
• Troubleshoot security and network issues.
• Improve existing functionality, its design, and methodologies
• Work with open-source technologies as needed
• Work with CI and CD tools, and source control such as GIT and GitLab

  
Requirements:
 

• 5+ years of systems security engineering experience within either AWS or GCP.
• Experience with Ansible or Chef scripts to automate deployments.
• Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, TerraGrunt, or Ansible.
• Hands-on experience managing and maintaining WAF’s, firewalls and load balancers.
• Ability to work without supervision.
• Open-source software and cloud services experience.
• Good communication skills being able to effectively communicate problems and solutions to all teams and management.
• Linux-based infrastructures experience, and administration of AWS and GCP.
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or Computer Science highly desired.  

 

Other skills:
 

• Experience using Terraform, TerraGrunt and/or Cloudformation.
• Knowledge of blockchain technologies and fault tolerant protocols.
• Experience working within the FinTech industry.
• Cryptocurrency knowledge.
